Good morning, After last week’s newsletter went out, I looked back at all the editions of this mid-week newsletter and I noticed they’ve all (except the first) been centred on Payments, eCommerce and a bit of Teleco. Clearly, this mid-week newsletter is more focused on businesses and sometimes how government policies affect them. Is this a tech newsletter? I’m not sure, however, I know it’s difficult to talk about businesses without talking about how they’re being enhanced or affected by technology in this era.
Opay came with good and promising offering but they didn't really do the analysis of the environment before putting all their eggs in one basket. One of the major determinant of business success in this clime is government decisions. To be realistic, the consumers need their products very well especially the Logistic and bike hailing service but they didn't figure how what if something go south,what are they going to fall back on. They could have taken it slow instead of spreading their tentacles to other states using the pyrrhic success in Lagos and its common knowledge that a state that calls itself megacity will do everything to reduce commercial bike from the street
